Immature Stages of Mydaidae

Detailed information on immature stages of Mydaidae is being acquired.  However, Clausen (1940) noted that the larvae of some species live in decaying wood, and some of them feed on larvae of Coleoptera, which are found in that habitat.  Greene (1917) reported this behavior for Mydas clavatus Drury.  The pupae of Mydaidae are similar in form to those of Asilidae and Bombyliidae.
